The dad of James Bulger has warned Jon Venables will always be a danger to children after the Parole Board blocked the killer’s release from jail over his lust for sexual violence.
Officials ruled the 38-year-old was obsessed with porn as they revealed their reasons for keeping him locked up for having child abuse images.
And tragic James’ father Ralph claimed the decision was proof the authorities were wrong to release Venables in the first place as his sick perversion has left a string of young victims in his wake.
The 54-year-old said: “I believe the only way to prevent him from killing another baby like James is to keep him locked up for life.
“The board’s decision shouts loud and clear that his handlers admit they got it wrong in the past and he is not safe to be released.
“Children will never be safe with Venables living among them.
“He downloaded thousands of images of child sex crimes, that’s a lot of victims.
“How can anyone say this monster is safe to live among us ever again?
Venables, jailed in 2018, was refused parole last month.
The board’s report said: “The risk factors at the time of his offending included an attraction to sexual violence. Features as an adult included a tendency to turn to sex or pornography.”
Venables and Robert Thompson, both 10 at the time, killed James, two, in Liverpool in November 1993.
They served eight years before being freed with new identities.
In 2010, Venables was jailed for having child sex images.
He was freed in 2013 but sent back in 2017 and later got 40 months.
